Romney harping on Benghazi as well as some of the Republican Senators using the lives of those fine men for political gain makes me want to puke.

They have little to say about someone else not doing their job well!

 It took one year to investigate "weapons of mass destruction". The investigation has barely started regarding Benghazi.  Why was a one year investigation for "weapons of mass destruction" reasonable but yet 5 weeks into this tragedy all facts are supposed to be known and all investigations concluded when the FBI only got to Libya a week ago?

There were 7 embassy attacks during the Bush years. (Some reports state 9.) Terrorists are terrorists. They have been around forever. But if Stevens and the others were in danger, they should have been moved out to there. This was not a fortified Embassy but a minimum security consultant.   Who were the 11 Libyans that died during the attack?  Were they guards?   Stevens was reported to be a morning runner.  If he was in fear, why was he still out taking his morning runs, as has been reported?  Where was the Libyan government that gets paid to protect that Embassy?  And why, if the Ambassador and the others were fearful, didn’t they leave? 

Many things are not yet known.  21 countries rioted and demonstrated over the video.  How was the White House to know immediately that the video and the attack on the consultant were not related when both was happening at the same time?

Romney, and others, seem to think they should have privy to national matters still under investigation. The lives of those fine men is tragic, not a great talking point for Republicans to gather votes.  Do they think Democrats don’t care about those men and we are happy for all these talking points?   We all care but I believe we care for different reasons.  Democrats because of the tragedy.  Republicans because they think they “have something” on Obama.

And now Hilary Clinton has come forward to take responsibility since she is the Head of the State Department.  John McCain says “the Buck Stops with Obama.”  Perhaps it does. But John McCain and Lindsay Graham should explain why no one come forward to take responsibility for 9-11?  To This Day!!  We were warned about 9-11 and there had been a terrorist attack previously. Airport security had not even been elevated and shame on us when 4 planes can be hijacked in one morning at different airports.  We knew right afterwards who was responsible because they took credit for it but Bush never bothered to go after bin Laden.  That was a job Obama was happy to take on.

We were all shocked, saddened and grieved together at 9-11.  Not once did I hear anyone place blame on the Bush Administration for that horrible day.  I remember the first reports saying a small plane had hit the tower.  Details are never known until they are known and the details coming out of Libya and on the TV was that the Benghazi attack was due to a video.

This has been the whole talking points with the Republicans.  They are not upset about the attack on the consulate as much as they are that Obama didn’t tell us fast enough it was a terrorist attack.  Unlike Romney who can jump in front of cameras and say what he wants, a President must have facts before he can make statements.  What really would have been the difference if these people were killed by a mob of protestors or by terrorists…. really?  The end result was the same.  But it did give Republicans the opportunity to call Obama a liar every day now for 5 weeks.

Hillary Clinton was a close friend to Stevens as McCain was.  That should be even more reason to want the facts and not the talking points.  And it’s as important to the Democrats as it is to the Republicans we get those responsible brought to justice.  But the investigations will take as long as is needed and we will know all the details then.  Until then, it’s nothing but  political fodder for the Republican base.
